I lead and support research programs that connect mechanical engineering, aerosol science, exposure assessment, healthy buildings, public health, field operations, and data systems.
Associate Research Professor of Mechanical Engineering in the Walter Scott, Jr. College of Engineering, and Associate Director, Center for Energy Development and Health. My work is based at CSU’s Powerhouse Energy Campus and spans engineering, environmental health, field research, instrumentation, and data infrastructure.
The academic contribution is not limited to publishing results. It includes creating opportunities for students, developing durable research capabilities, leading interdisciplinary teams, and helping research reach the people who can use it.
I lead and support research programs that connect mechanical engineering, aerosol science, exposure assessment, healthy buildings, public health, field operations, and data systems.
My academic work includes mentoring undergraduate and graduate researchers, supporting summer research experiences, and helping students move from a technical question to a defensible experiment, dataset, and result.
I build laboratories, instruments, software, databases, and operational systems that allow teams to conduct ambitious research reliably and at scale.
I work to make engineering research useful beyond a journal article—through public communication, community partnerships, technical guidance, training, and tools that others can use.
